Nemours is seeking a RN-Ambulatory (Allergy), FULL-TIME, to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Orlando, Florida. Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children's Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 100-bed pediatric hospital also features the area's only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve; we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region. RN ambulatory is responsible for providing nursing care in partnership with the child, family, and community resources that is individualized to meet the child and/or family's unique needs and situation in the ambulatory care setting. The RN -ambulatory considers individual, cultural, ethnic, and religious values and beliefs in planning and delivering evidence-based care to individual pediatric patients while also managing disease specific populations, by providing pertinent teaching, coordination, continuity of care and consultation with appropriate community resources. They evaluate nursing care on an ongoing basis and revise plan of care as needed. They are accountable and responsible for the coordination and management of a designated group of patients in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. This position is responsible for the following: * Responsible for the care of patients within specific population. * Utilizes the nursing process as a basis for providing and evaluating nursing care; applies knowledge of growth and development, pathophysiology, and family dynamics in delivery of care. * Provides patient education for diagnostic procedures, medical conditions and treatment plans. * Oversees patient flow, providing clinical direction to other team members. * Documents all aspects of nursing care delivery appropriately. * Evaluates child/family responses to the effectiveness of nursing/medical interventions and addresses/makes appropriate changes as needed. * Maintains patient/family confidentiality and privacy. * Protects the human and legal rights of the pediatric patient and family. Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics for nurses. Maintains confidentiality within legal and regulatory parameters. * Advocates for the child, and works with families, social service agencies and the courts when there is concern about child abuse, neglect, or other forms of family violence. * Travel to other locations required. Job Requirements * Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. * Current Florida Nursing license or compact license. * Minimum of six months Registered Nurse (RN) experience; one (1) year pediatric specialty experience preferred. * Valid American Heart Association BLS Certification required upon hire.
