Position: Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Location: Uvalde Memorial Hospital, Uvalde, TX Type: Full-time Shift: Night Shift - 36 hours per week About Uvalde Memorial Hospital Uvalde Memorial Hospital is dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to our community. We are seeking dedicated and compassionate nurses to join our team, particularly in the Medical/Surgical department, where nurses play a key role in caring for a diverse patient population. Position Overview We are currently hiring a Registered Nurse to work in our Medical/Surgical department. In this role, you will provide comprehensive care to patients recovering from surgery, dealing with acute illnesses, or managing chronic conditions. As part of a dynamic team, you will deliver nursing care while adhering to the highest standards of safety and patient care. Key Responsibilities * Provide direct nursing care to medical and surgical patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans. * Administer medications, treatments, and other interventions as prescribed by the physician. * Monitor and assess patient conditions, identifying and reporting any changes to the physician or charge nurse. * Educate patients and families about their conditions, medications, and recovery plans. * Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, physical therapists, dietitians, and social workers, to coordinate patient care. * Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system. * Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory standards. Qualifications * Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred). * Licensure: Current Texas RN licensure. * Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required. * Experience: Prior nursing experience is preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply. * Skills: Strong clinical and critical thinking skills, effective communication, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
