Clinical Referral Nurse-Walter B. Jones Center

See eligibility for Sign-on Bonus below in the Supplemental and Contact Information section. * Per G.S. 126-5(c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7.* The Clinical Referral Triage Nurse position will be responsible for managing the Clinical Referral and Admission of patients seeking admission to the Walter B. Jones Center. The Clinical Referral Triage Nurse will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer. Job responsibilities include the following: * Managing the Clinical Referral Process by reviewing the referral when received, calling the referral source, completing the clinical date/information needed for the referral, contacting Physician regarding admission, and returning referral packet to admissions. * Managing the Clinical Admissions Process by completing the consent for treatment, process any necessary evaluations with each patient, work with Physician to assure all paperwork is completed, complete Nursing Triage form and Nursing Assessment, make referral and complete continued care plan for patient denials. * Provide direct nursing care at the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure patient/staff safety. Multiple Positions. Position will typically work either 6:45 am - 7:15 pm or 6:45 pm to 7:15 am on a 36/48 two-week rotation. About the Walter B. Jones Center: The Walter B. Jones Center operates two adult inpatient treatment programs on site in Greenville, NC: (1) Woodside Treatment Center and (2) Lakeside Psychiatric Hospital. The primary purpose and mission of the Walter B. Jones Center is "To provide inpatient treatment, psychiatric stabilization and medical detoxification for individuals with mental health, substance use and other co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses for ongoing community based treatment and recovery". The Center is accredited by the Joint Commission and SAMHSA/CSAT. Two specialty programs are offered to all 100 NC Counties: (1) Inpatient Opioid Treatment for adults and (2) Inpatient Perinatal Services for women in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters with substance use disorders. Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess all of the following: * Proven knowledge of professional principles, practices and theory of nursing and its application. * Proven knowledge of medications and the physiological effect of those medications * Demonstrated ability to independently plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. * Demonstrated ability to lead a team; skill in delegation and making assignments * Demonstrated ability to demonstrate patience in dealing with patients, clients, and families * Demonstrated ability to communicate information to patients, families and staff in a concise and descriptive manner, verbally, in writing or by demonstration.
