RN (Registered Nurse) Unit Coordinator - Main Operating Room-Plastics/Charge RN

City/State Norfolk, VA Overview Work Shift First (Days) (United States of America) Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring a full time RN (Registered Nurse) in our Main Operating Room in a Unit Coordinator role in Plastics and Charge Nurse. We have 12 operating rooms and one procedural room. Up to 60% of our cases are total joints with the remaining cases being general, robotics, GYN, urology, plastics, vascular. You work closely with surgeons whom are robotically trained to ensure that the required supplies and instrumentation is present for their cases. You have responsibility for the ordering and managing the PAR levels for robotic instruments. The Robotic Coordinator also is critical in helping train staff on robotic surgery techniques, and you stay in frequent communication with the Intuitive rep to ensure staff are trained. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service. 18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty. Behavioral Health - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire. Emergency Care - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire. BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred. CNOR Certification required within 90 days of hire.
