Lead Solid Organ Transplant Pharmacist
This position is for the Transplant Pharmacy Team Lead and Residency Program Director for the PGY2 Solid Organ Transplant Program. This role has no direct reports but serves as a team leader for the solid organ transplant team and will be responsible for mentoring, and developing employees. Work requires strong clinical skills, detailed knowledge of hospital processes/operations, and the application and interpretation of Federal and Commonwealth statutes, laws and regulations. In addition, work requires understanding and application of professional practice, organizational and departmental policies, standards and procedures. The Solid Organ Transplant Clinical Pharmacist provides specialized patient-centered clinical services to the inpatient solid organ transplant population in addition to the outpatient transplant clinic/infusion center. This position must: provide pharmaceutical care to patients to achieve optimal therapeutic outcomes; promote cost-effective drug therapy; promote cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building; assist with verification and dispensing of medication orders; provide assistance in educating other health care professionals in regards to pharmacotherapy; participate in multidisciplinary and cross-service drug therapy management plans; assist in developing and implementing treatment protocols in order to improve patient care. This person must possess the ability to work independently, demonstrate a positive attitude, have a strong commitment to teamwork and customer service as well as strive to consistently improve patient care by working as a cohesive transplant pharmacy team to achieve goals. * Provides clinical pharmaceutical care to patients. * Oversees daily pharmacy operations and enhances the quality and delivery of care. * Serves as the team leader to provide leadership in the delivery of pharmacy services. * Supports the oversight issues related to pharmacy services. * Engages in professional self-development. * Supports educational mission through training of pharmacy residents, students, and pharmacy technician trainees and continuous professional growth * Enhances the quality of delivery of care. * In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Position Compensation Range: $55.67 - $89.07 Hourly MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's Degree Experience: PGY1-required or 3 years of equivalent hospital experience Licensure: Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License. BLS required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing and traveling for prolonged periods.
