Allergy & ENT Associates is HIRING! Our patient volume is growing and we need a nurse at our Katy Location! Location: 23543 Kingsland Boulevard, Suite 100 Katy, Texas 77494 Hours: Monday8:30am - 5:30pmTuesday8:00am - 4:40pmWednesday8:00am - 4:40pmThursday9:30am - 6:40pmFriday7:00am - 2:30pmSaturdayClosed Benefits: Health Insurance Dental & Vision Insurance 401K Life insurance PTO & Holidays Short- & Long-Term Disability Position Summary To provide quality nursing care services to the patients of Allergy & ENT Associates through collaboration with physicians and other members of the health care team. Supports the goals and objectives of the Company. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Provides patient care as a member of the health care team within scope of license. * Follows nursing policies, procedures, and protocols and implements appropriately in the care of adult and pediatric patients. * Provides instructions to patients regarding treatment plan, medications and follow-up. * Communicates effectively with other members of the health care team including accurate documentation in patient medical records. * Greets patients with a smile, completion of registration forms, and gives instructions * Uses communication skills with appropriate medical terminology * Follows appropriate legal and ethical professional conduct * Performs specific Job Activities as assigned per office location. * Continues professional self-development Clinical: * Interview patients while recording and updating medical information (history, chief complaint) and medications etc. into the E H R * Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests * Provides patient education with regards to medications and instructions set forth by the provider to manage their health * Triages emergency situations * Prepares and administers medications with physician authorization * Performs and maintains IV insertion and medications * Use CPR skills when necessary * Refill requests and Prior Authorizations for medications Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. * Current Texas RN or LVN license. * Current CPR certification. * Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical procedures, and current nursing practices. * One year nursing experience preferred. * Allergy/ENT Medical Office experience desirable. * Must be self-directed and able to work independently * Attention to detail a must * Professional, calm and courteous demeanor * Excellent verbal and written communication skills COMPUTER SKILLS * Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word Knowledge, Skills, Abilities * Safety and Confidentiality - Follows OSHA regulations and the safety guidelines of the Practice. Follows HIPAA policies and procedures. Respects and maintains patient confidentiality. * Organization - Uses time efficiently by prioritizing and planning work activities; is methodical and efficient in structuring tasks to be accomplished. * Professional Maturity - The ability to separate emotional feelings from the real issues at hand. Physical Demands Physical Demands: Anticipate lifting 20-25 pounds in any given day. Lifting up to 40-50 pounds may occasionally be required, depending on the specific style or type of care provided. In the performance of certain patient care tasks, the nurse may be expected to have sufficient manual dexterity in order to safely perform various skills and techniques. Tasks and expectations may vary by clinical site and medical practice. Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner. May be exposed to acutely ill patients, communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, and airborne allergens used during skin testing and immunotherapy. Work Environment Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation; Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic). Typical schedule is Monday through Friday with regular working hours; Occasional overtime and/ or travel to other clinics may be required.
