Are you looking to lead a fulfilling career? The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have five (5) years or more direct supervision experience of RN(s) and LPN(s) and previous experience in medical record auditing for quality and regulatory compliance for the Nursing Educator/Quality Auditor position for the Clinical Support Program in the Developmental Services Division. Duties: * Serve as a key resource in the orientation and continuing education of staff in the Developmental Services Division while implementing a comprehensive education program for his/her assigned units. * The Nurse Educator collaborates with nursing and DS management to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate, and revise educational programming for all levels of nursing and non-nursing personnel as indicated or requested. * Collaborate with members of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and other members of DS leadership to ensure that all staff are adequately trained and proficient in the performance of all healthcare-related tasks according to departmental job descriptions. * Develop & implement, evidence-based, quality education programs/activities to promote individual development, competency & delivery of high-quality clinical service. * Responsible for maintaining training rosters, certificates, or other documentation as evidence of individual staff education. * Plan nursing professional development programs that are culturally relevant and incorporate concepts of multicultural and multigenerational education. * Use organizational strategic plans and goals to determine educational priorities. * Follow and ensure staff compliance with all City, Department, Local, State, and Federal Guidelines. * Provide leadership, guidance, instruction, and oversight to non-licensed staff, as well as LPNs for medication administration as requested. * Maintain all current licenses, certifications, and competencies that are required to perform the tasks associated with this position including but not limited to Nursing License, CPR Instructor Certification, TOVA Instructor certification, and Medication Administration Training Certification.
