Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator for the Intermediate Care/Step Down Unit (IMCU/SDU). RN Unit Coordinators demonstrate proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service. This is a 30-bed unit with diagnoses to include, but are not limited to medical, surgical, cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological or traumatic injuries, requiring cardiac monitoring. The most frequent diagnoses are cardiovascular (ie. syncope, angina, chest pain, and congestive heart failure). Behavioral Health - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire. Emergency Care - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire. BLS required within 90 days of hire. Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
