Job Description Medical Technologist Part-time, Days, RSWH As a Medical Laboratory Technologist at Regional Hospital of Scranton, you'll join a team and be a part of a culture that's dedicated to improving lives. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology is required. * Requires graduation from an accredited Medical Technology program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). * Laboratory training through an accredited laboratory school is preferred. * One to two years experience in a generalist role is preferred. * Will consider candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a related field (biological or chemical sciences) and who are eligible for certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP). About the Job: * Performs manual and automated routine blood tests. * Prepares specimens for microscope examination. * Operates state of the art laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators. * Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. * Performs a variety of tasks; a certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
