Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center (BMNTC) is currently accepting applications for Licensed Practical Nurses. This posting is for multiple vacancies. The advertised position number may be for recruiting purposes only. Practical Nurses are responsible for the administration of medication and ordered treatments; data collection for nursing care; monitoring, observing and performing direct patient care as needed for coverage. Responsibilities include: * Report and document patient's response to medications, treatments and ordered care * Collaboration and delegation of tasks under the licensure of a Registered Nurse THIS POSITION IS DESIGNATED MANDATORY AND MUST REPORT OR STAY OVER DURING ADVERSE WEATHER EVENTS OR OTHER EMERGENCIES. Shift preferences will be discussed in the interview and will depend on staffing needs. In addition to our traditional work schedules listed below, flexible schedules may be available. 1st shift (days) 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM 2nd shift (evenings) 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM 3rd shift (nights) 10:45 PM - 7:15 AM Work schedules include weekend and holiday rotations. We offer 20% shift premium pay for 2nd and 3rd shift hours and 5% shift premium pay for hours worked on the weekends. Flexibility is required for training/education purposes and to meet the needs of the facility. Per G.S. 126-5 (c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7. ABOUT BLACK MOUNTAIN NEURO-MEDICAL TREATMENT CENTER: Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center is one of three state operated facilities serving adults with chronic and complex medical conditions that co-exist with neurodevelopmental or neurocognitive disorders often related to a diagnosis of severe and persistent mental illness or intellectual disability. The health and physical status of these residents require 24-hour supervision, daily nursing care, and assistance with activities of daily living. ELIGIBILITY FOR SIGN-ON BONUS Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements: A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week). An employee is NOT eligible for a sign-on bonus if: * the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date); * the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency; * or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees. This Sign-on Bonus is contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination as of the effective date of hire.
