Sonographer Staff
Physician's Mobile X-Ray, Inc. (PMX) is the oldest continuously operating mobile diagnostic company in Pennsylvania, offering mobile diagnostic radiology, cardiology, ultrasound services and vascular services. In December of 2013 PMX, merged with the former Mobile X-Ray Imaging (MXI) management team. The merger expanded services to healthcare facilities, rehabilitation hospitals, home care agencies, and correctional institutions throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland. Position Summary A Sonographer Staff is a Diagnostic Ultrasound Professional that is qualified by professional credentialing and academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The scope of practice includes those procedures, acts and processes and permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience, has demonstrated competency, and has completed the appropriate ARDMS certification(s) which is the standard of practice in ultrasound.. Job Functions To perform sonography services, examinations as ordered by attending physician in accordance with established protocol in mobile environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Performs all requested sonographic examinations as ordered by the attending physician in accordance with established scanning protocols. * Prepares preliminary reports and contacts referring physicians when required, according to established procedures. * Coordinates with other staff to ensure appropriate patient care is provided. * Addresses problems of patient care as they arise, and makes decisions to appropriately resolve the problems. * Organizes daily work schedule and performs related clerical duties as required * Assumes responsibility for the safety and well-being of all patients while the examination is being performed * Reports equipment failures to the appropriate supervisor. * Provides in-service education team on requirements of sonographic procedures as requested by other members of the health care team. * Maintains assigned equipment and vehicles in proper working order. * Performs other related duties as assigned. Skills: * Oral Communication Skills * Written Communication Skills * Organization * Time Management * Math Aptitude * Testing * Safe Driving Skills Education * Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program. Council on Education of the American Medical Association or have earned a bachelor's or associates degree from an accredited college or university. * Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) in the specialty(ies) as appropriate. . * Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate. Experience * No experience necessary if education and training requirements are met.
