Nurse Supervisor (1st Shift - JFK-ADATC)

Keith Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center (JFK-ADATC) in Black Mountain, North Carolina, has an excellent opportunity for a Nurse Supervisor. The primary purpose of the Nurse Supervisor is to provide professional nursing service to JFK-ADATC patients. The Nursing Supervisor is an integral part of the Nursing Department and assumes responsibility for the nursing needs of the patients across an entire shift. This position is directly accountable to the Director of Nursing for all work performed. Other Nursing Supervisor responsibilities include: * Staying within the guidelines of the NC Nurse Practice Act, Code of Ethics for nurses, Medical and Nursing Policy and Procedures and the regulations and standards set forth by the State, CMS, and JCAHO. * Administratively and clinically supervises nursing staff personnel. * Work with management to oversee the daily functioning of the facility by assuring adequate staffing coverage and directing staff as they perform their duties About the facility: JFK is a 68-bed inpatient treatment facility designed to meet the needs of adults with substance use disorders from the 44 westernmost counties in North Carolina. The facility treats individuals with substance abuse and psychiatric diagnoses. JFK is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations as a Behavioral Health facility and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as an inpatient psychiatric hospital. Work Schedule: 12-hour days (6:45am-7:15pm), Sunday to Saturday with some holidays, weekends and overtime; flexibility is required. Management Preferences * Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree * Working knowledge of alcohol and drug detoxification and various psychotropic medications, psychiatrics and or chemical dependency with nursing background. * Management/supervisory experience preferred.
