As the regions only Childrens Hospital, this hospital within a hospital has a total 197 beds and bassinets, including a Level IV NICU, quaternary PICU with ECMO capabilities, a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department, and a specialized critical-care transport team. Position Summary Up to $30K Commitment Incentive The Pediatric Day Medical Ambulatory Unit is a 10 bed outpatient child friendly environment which provides outpatient services for the children of Eastern North Carolina. Services such as: chemotherapy, sedation, portable dialysis, medication therapy, transfusions, patient testing, and minor non-surgical procedures can be performed with a family centered approach in a space built just for our children. Responsible to provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice and other standards established by profession/professional groups, regulating bodies/agents. Nursing care will be delivered in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures and professional standards of care/practice. Responsible for the provision and coordination of nursing care to include the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members. Identifies interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluates the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and documents the process. This care includes sensitivity to age specific and unique needs of the patient/family. Promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the health care team. Collaborates with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care. Delegates tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act. Minimum Requirements Minimum Requirements * Current RN licensure in the state of North Carolina or temporary North Carolina licensure or meet requirements to hold RN licensure in a compact state. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, pediatrics and critical care are preferred. * Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) required. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit requirements.
