Adult Medicine - RN

Borinquen Medical Centers is located in Miami, FL and is seeking to hire a full-time RN for our Adult Medicine department. The position of Registered Nurse will support the department and its operations, including clinical tasks that will support continuity and/or transition of care. In addition, the registered nurse will support the proper delivery of ambulatory health care and participate in the day to day operations with the patient care team. Tasks and Responsibilities * Triage walk-in patients and gather clinical information to assist in determining access needs. * Assists and supports the clinical manager providing coverage while on vacation. * Assists supporting patient care procedures and related tasks when required or directed by clinical manager; checks in patients, assists in obtaining patient histories, takes vital signs, prepares charts, and assists with medical examinations. * Order medical supplies for the department. * Assists and supports in the education of staff and education and navigation of patients in a patient centered medical environment following established guidelines for Borinquen * Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods. * Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician when needed. * Ensures the performance of standing orders as approved by department and in accordance with policy and procedures * Supports the compliance of the clinical guidelines and standard of care and actively participates in chart audits, the surveillance, and performance of the team. * Reports any non-compliant issues to clinical manager and the respective parties involved * Supports the Clinical Manager in patient portal tasks including but not limited to re-directing messages to the appropriate staff following Borinquen policies and procedures. * Reports to Clinical Manager any patient that needs immediate medical attention. * Works and completes tasks in electronic medical record system in a timely manner. * Translate when necessary. * Support staff in assigned project-based work. * Perform weekly inventory of medications and vaccines. * Use of RN knowledge to triage patients. * Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor as required. * Complete immunization reports and forms, administration of medications and vaccines as well as provide VIS form before administering vaccines, ordering immunizations. * Order vaccine and vaccine administration supplies and maintain inventory. * Able to perform different treatments and point of care tests when required such as, but not limited to: aerosols, medication administration, immunizations, dipstick, ear lavage, dispense medications, wound care, among others. * Schedule patient appointments, respond to e-mails on a daily basis, return patients phone calls, and answer calls from pharmacies and hospitals. * Verify oxygen tank levels and order refill; Verify refrigerator and freezer temperature. * Address all task and orders as they appear in Athena. * Review forms that need to be completed by providers and transfer information from the chart to the form. * Complete nurse visit encounters. REQUIREMENTS * Florida RN License * At least 1 year of experience in the healthcare field. * Bilingual preferred. * Strong interpersonal skills. * Ability to interact effectively with consumers, administration, faculty, and staff. * Handle the information with high level of confidentiality. * Considerable knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. * Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
