We are looking for an experienced LPN to support our outpatient practice within our Gynecology Oncology team. This position will support our Rose Quarter Cancer Center in Portland, OR. Nurses working at Compass are an important part of the interdisciplinary team that supports the extraordinary care provided to our patients. This individual will work alongside our gynecology oncology team, that includes our providers, an RN, Medical Assistants, and schedulers. The team's primary focus is to work collectively to help guide our patients through their cancer care journey. The qualified individual will be utilizing the nursing process addressing the acute and chronic needs of the patient with a cancer diagnosis, answering clinical questions, and gathering information for our providers to inform care delivery decisions. Employment Type: Full-Time, 40 Hours M-F Location: Rose Quarter Cancer Clinic (Portland, OR) Salary Range: $25.15 -$39.60 per hour * Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise as well as internal employee equity considerations. Scope: Under general supervision, provides general nursing care for patients following established standards and practices for the licensed practical nurse within the state of WA. This individual will promote efficient patient flow and assist with patient care adhering to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities Essential duties and Responsibilities: Provides general nursing care to patients, to include: * Screen patients for appropriate information. * Administers treatments such as wound care, bladder scans, void trials, etc. in accordance with nursing standards. * Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physician during examination and procedures. * Observes, records, and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to providers. * Orders/prescribes medications as directed by provider. * Provides patient education, to include pre/post operative patient education on procedures, medications, and recovery expectations. * Responds to/refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. * Recognizes when escalation is required to RN to maintain compliance with nurse practice act and state regulations for LPNs. * Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and current medication reconciliation. * Performs EKG and oximetry readings as requested by the provider. * Send referrals, place orders, and request medical records as outlined by the provider. * Maintain patient files, records, and other information. * Initiate IV fluids and IV therapeutic medications in accordance with LPN/LVN state nurse practice act. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * High school graduate or equivalent. * Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing. * This position requires at least 3 years' experience as a practical nurse. * Phlebotomy experience preferred. * Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state. * Current American Heart Association accredited BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
