Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Supervisor, Occupational Therapist. In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for the staff and the Pediatric daily operations of all acute care Occupational Therapy functions within Tisch Hospital, Kimmel Pavilion, and Hassenfeld Children's Center. Job Responsibilities: * Orientates and participates in all staff clinical training in designated units. Performs these activities with diligence and thoroughness in order to expedite staff learning. This clinical teaching and training occurs throughout each performance component and includes all required aspects of an employee performance. * Demonstrates continued proficiency in skills required to treat assigned patient population. * Assists maintaining compliance in all regulatory requirements including but not limited to TJC and CARF. * Exhibits ancillary Occupational Therapy Leadership in regards to producing and evidence based practices, department research initiatives, student program, department and unit in-service program and new program development. * Participates and initiates performance improvement projects for designated units and reports on these projects to PI council. * Displays and exhibits appropriate levels of positive communication in regards to staff and colleagues in order to reinforce individual growth among staff and colleagues. Performs appropriate staff evaluations and completes evaluations in a timely and thorough format. * Evaluations include narratives that outline staffs strengths and areas for improvements. * Is able to successfully facilitate professional relationships with management team members including immediate supervisor. Displays teamwork qualities with colleagues with a helpful disposition in regards to the OT management team. Displays and exhibits appropriate levels of positive communication in regards to staff and colleagues in order to reinforce individual growth among staff and colleagues. * Exhibits high levels of initiative in regards to program and staff development. Integrates Department and Unit goals into work performance in supervisory duties. * Demonstrates the motivation and ability to learn and integrate successfully proven leadership qualities into their own leadership role and style. Is able to successfully display situational leadership skills when unexpected challenges arise. * Produces the necessary data and performs analysis of this data in regards to any objective patient care information that is requested. Able to summarize this information into a tangible format to assist management team in decision making. Displays consistency and congruency in all communication to staff in regards to the above. Is able to have staff understand rational for P/P and carry out P/P effectively. * Responsible for monitoring and implementing unit and department procedures and policies with appropriate abilities for ascertaining staffs performance in regards to such policies. Able to implement appropriate corrective action for noncompliance. * Demonstrates the ability to individually and collaboratively make sound and timely decisions based upon positive principles. Able to communicate these decisions to the staff while informing them of the principles used to make such decisions. Displays the ability to prioritize issues and concerns and filter them in order to achieve consistent success and congruency in action. * Actively participates in personnel recommendations through active involvement in interviewing. Engages candidates in purposeful and valuable dialogue during the interview process. Uses sound principles in the joint selection of possible employees. * Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a M.S. or M.A. Degree and five years of progressive clinical experience in occupational therapy including three years in supervision or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current New York State license and registration required. BLS certification (Issued by the American Heart Association-AHA) OR Heartsaver CPR/AED certification (Issued by the American Heart Association-AHA) is required upon entry to the position. Preferred Qualifications: Occupational Therapy Doctorate degree. AOTA Board Certification in Pediatrics. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,325.14 - $135,541.73 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
