New Graduate Nurse Resident - Medical Unit - Days

Our 4 North team provides medical/surgical care to adult populations with a wide variety of complex medical conditions. We focus our efforts on restoring optimal physical and mental well-being in each unique situation with a constant goal of maintaining a safe and supportive environment for our patients. Our unit consists of 26 med/surg tele beds and provides post-op colorectal surgical care. We are looking for a high-energy Nurse Resident with excellent communication skills to join our team of healers! Job Summary Job Summary * Provides basic patient care. * Assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. * Takes and records vital sign (VS) data and relays to patient's nurse. * Provides general nursing care and routine treatment /procedures (under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse). * Facilitates processing of patients. Education Provide documentation of completion of a program of registered nursing and eligibility to write the licensure examination in Oklahoma. The graduate may continue to be employed in a Nurse Resident role until licensed, provided that the first licensure examination is taken within 90 days after graduation and the examination is passed within 6 months of graduation, on either the first or the second attempt. If the examination is failed after the second attempt, the Nurse Resident can no longer remain in the Nurse Resident position. Graduates of registered nursing program with concurrent LPN license will also be placed in Nurse Resident role. Experience Completion of an accredited nursing program. Licensure/Certification/Registration/Professional Designation ETC Active Oklahoma LPN license or active Multistate LPN/LVN license, if applicable. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment. Complete the 1yr Vizient Nurse Residency Program.
