Burn Unit Registered Nurse (Every weekend)
Identifies stages of human growth and development and uses this information to provide age appropriate care to the patient population served. Identifies the psychology of developmental stages and uses this information to provide age appropriate care which fosters growth. Utilizes communication skills appropriate to the age, developmental stage, and literacy level of patients served. Recognizes and reports suspected cases of child/elder abuse in accordance with applicable statutes. Identifies the pathophysiology of burns and uses this information to plan appropriate nursing care. Identifies the pathophysiology of trauma and uses this information to plan appropriate nursing care. Performs a comprehensive physical assessment of the patient with burn or trauma injury. Develops and institutes a teaching plan for patients and families on the aspects of wound management. Attends required trauma continuing education. Maintains ACLS Certification. Maintains critical care nursing certification or PTSF designated educational credential. Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation designated educational credentials: Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course Trauma Nurse Core Course Experience Staff Nurse 1 year clinical nursing experience
