Registered Nurse, RN, NICU


Responsibilities The Registered Nurse, RN, NICU is accountable for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care for NICU patients served and collaborates with other members of the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The Registered Nurse, RN, NICU practices professional nursing by utilizing the nursing process and adheres to standards set forth in the Nurse Practice Act of Pennsylvania and Grand View Health policies and procedures. Essential Functions: * Assesses and monitors the overall needs of patients and family. Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner. * Develops and utilizes verbal communication skills to obtain and/or provide information regarding the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient/significant other. Communicates effectively with members of the healthcare team. * Implements accepted standards of documentation on patient electronic medical records and other hospital forms to assure that information affecting a patient, significant other or member of the healthcare team is properly recorded. * Collects subjective and/or objective data systematically and routinely by using physical assessment skills to identify and prioritize the patient's actual and/or potential problems or needs. * Coordinates plan of care and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team in order to implement care. * Assures that care delivered meets established standards of care and follows evidence-based practice. Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am, every third weekend and every third holiday.
