The House Supervisor RN is responsible for the following: * Maintain effective working relationship with physicians, health professional affiliates, patient's families, and nursing staff. * Assist in coordinating and supervising services on assigned units to achieve a comfortable and positive patient care atmosphere. * Perform regular rounding on nursing units that include following up with licensed and non-licensed staff, check on acutely ill patients, and greet all new admissions. * Assist in creating a team atmosphere that enhances quality of care and experience for patients. * Provide support and direction for nurses by assisting them in assessments and care planning who may be experiencing a change in condition, assist in prioritizing tasks, provide education, and ensure proper supplies and medications are available. * Facilitate communication between licensed nurses and providers, responsible parties or outside vendors as needed to ensure patient care needs are met promptly and appropriately. * Respond to emergencies and ensure proper measures are conducted and fulfilled. * Ensure proper staffing needs are met on all assigned units. Qualified candidates for House Supervisor RN should have the following: * Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Texas or eligible compact license. * Inpatient behavioral hospital experience strongly preferred. * Management/supervisory experience strongly preferred. * Must be BLS certified. * Must complete Handle with Care training during hospital orientation. * Must be available to attend a full week of hospital orientation and department training that follows.
