Retail Audiologist


Department Overview The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. Function/Duties of Position Clinical: The audiologist is responsible for administering diagnostic audiological tests that allow the differentiation between types of hearing disorders. She/he makes recommendations regarding hearing care options. Reviews products available to improve hearing impairment. Sells appropriate hearing care products and warranties to meet the patient's needs. Provides hearing aid dispensing, including selection, fitting, ear-mold acoustics, and ongoing management with follow-up and education. Demonstrates and sells assisted listening devices, batteries, and other special products. Performs hearing aid checks, repairs, and cleaning. Administrative: This position will be responsible for marketing activities, including coordinating events, seminars, and luncheons with referral sources in the community. She/he is responsible for revenue and margin outcomes and managing vendor relationships. The audiologist will assist customers with exchanges or returns as needed and will be highly involved in clinical quality outcomes, including efficiency and productivity. This position will provide excellent customer service and maintain good public relations. She/he will be responsible for management oversight of office procedures and share administrative duties with colleagues as needed. Required Qualifications * Masters in Audiology; current State certification and licensure; CCC-A or FAA * 5 years of experience fitting, dispensing, and recommending hearing aids to clients; * 2-5 years of proven sales experience, preferably in the retail hearing aid industry; * Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse customer, colleague, and vendor population.
