Murdoch is currently recruiting a Professional Nurse for Statewide Programs Children's Assessment Clinic. This position is located in Summerset Cottage.   The Children's Needs Assessment Clinic is a program at the Center and requires an RN to assist in the overall assessment process, coordination and running of the Clinic appointment, to include associated documentation requirements.  This RN will work closely with the Assessment Clinic Coordinator to fulfill these duties as their primary responsibility and will be assigned to assist in a residential professional nurse role as time allows and/or in emergent situations.     This RN will have the primary responsibility of assisting in the overall assessment process for children accepted into Murdoch's Needs Assessment Clinic.  Components of the comprehensive assessment will include extensive review of records and preparation of a Nurse Summary with findings to include: general health and behavioral history, previous treatments/medication history, treatment response over time, and factors contributing to or inhibiting previous recovery efforts.  Summary will include documented diagnoses and description of presenting problems and symptoms and current physical health conditions and functional limitations relative to the child's needs to obtain/maintain optimal functioning in the community.  This RN will make recommendations regarding the need for allied health clinicians to be involved in the clinical assessment based on record review, for example: OT/PT, Speech, Dietary, etc.  The RN will work closely with the CCA Coordinator, Psychiatrist, Pharmacist, and MD to prepare for and participate in the actual clinic appointment to include: setting up and assisting MD with physical exam and providing associated health information (immunization records, vital signs, weight, etc.), and will participate in other aspects of the clinical assessment and review meetings as requested or indicated. The RN will prepare a final report to include their findings and recommendations to be considered in the comprehensive report for the MCO/LME and family.         Based on time demands of the Needs Assessment Clinic, this RN will provide direct clinical assistance as a residential professional nurse, to an assigned residential area at the Center.   This RN provides evaluation, assessment, and assures coordination and implementation of care delivery.  This RN acts as charge nurse when assigned, provides clinical services and consultation including medication and treatment administration, MD/Professional contacts, & care planning for health needs. This RN will maintain all necessary credentialing, skills and abilities to function in the clinical professional nurse role.  Provides advanced clinical services and consultation as necessary/assigned including medication/treatment administration, physician/professional contacts, identification and care planning for health needs, and emergency care for medical and behavioral emergencies.  Professional supervision is provided by the RN for LPNs and unlicensed staff as indicated.   Scheduled work hours/shift:   8am-5pm 5 days/week with flexibility to work 6:30 am-3:00 pm; and occasional rotating 12-hour shift weekends 6:30a-7p; schedule adjustments as needed/required.   This is a full time position and eligible for the full state benefits package including Health Insurance, paid sick/vacation/holidays,retorement, etc.     We offer flexible shifts and pay additions for hours worked: Shift  Work Schedule  Shift Premium  1st  6:30am-3pm  10% Weekend Only  2nd  2:30pm-11pm  15% Weekday & 25% Weekend 3rd  10:45pm-6:45am  20% Weekday & 30% Weekend  About Murdoch Developmental Center:   Murdoch Developmental Center is a 24/7 state residential facility located in Butner, NC, near the Research Triangle area.  Murdoch serves individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD).  Murdoch is a caring community where professionals work with people of various ages, cognitive and functional abilities.
