  • Department: Perioperative Care * Schedule: Part - time, * (3) eight hour shifts between Monday - Friday with no set schedule. * Call requirement which includes coverage on nights, weekends and holidays. * Hospital: Ascension Sacred Heart Bay * Location: Panama City, Florida * Hours will be based upon shift and department needs. There is also an on-call and holiday requirement. On- call includes nights and weekends. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. * Implement and monitor patient care plans. * Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate. * Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. * Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. * Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: * BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. * Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Education: * Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire. Additional Preferences 2 years of acute nursing experience required. 2 years of PACU/Pre-Op or relevant critical care nursing experience preferred. ASPAN preferred. ACLS and PALS can be obtained by the end of orientation. This position requires cross-training and floating to PACU as needed.
