What You'll Do As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in improving the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your responsibilities will include: * Health Management: * Provide nursing care across health, welfare, and community settings. * Monitor clients during illness or injury, sharing 24/7 on-call duties. * Offer consultation, minor illness treatment, and emergency medical assistance. * Collaboration & Communication: * Attend meetings with clients, guardians, and interdisciplinary teams to address medical concerns and health goals. * Communicate directly with management and program coordinators about medical needs and treatment plans. * Training & Oversight: * Provide in-service training on health care and hygiene for direct support staff. * Supervise medical care practices, ensuring compliance and quality. * Client Support: * Review and manage medication administration procedures. * Assist families and clients in coordinating medical appointments and treatments. * Conduct home visits to monitor residents' health, as outlined in their Individual Treatment Plans (ITPs). * Documentation: * Maintain detailed nursing notes and medication administration instructions. What You'll Need * Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and registration and license (RN) to practice nursing in the state of Texas and one year of experience during the last 36 months. * Experience in Home Health or Public Health and Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities desired. * Valid Texas Drivers' License, clear MVR and ability to be insured.
