Shadyside Service Lines: * Oncology Service Line encompasses five units focused on the care of oncology patients. We specialize in blood disorders, lymphoma patients receiving chemotherapy, stem cell transplants, and hematology/oncology treatment of leukemia on units 2 Pavilion, 2 South, 5 Main, 6 Main, 6 West, and 7 Main. There are opportunities and certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN). * Medicine Service Line at UPMC Shadyside is a significant service supporting our academic teaching program mission. This service line consists of units 3 East, 3 Pavilion, 4 East, 4 Pavilion/South, and 5 Pavilion with over 120 beds. These units care for patients of all ages who are being treated for a wide array of conditions that allow for nurses to be telemetry-trained, NIH stroke certified, and med/surg RN's. * Surgical Service Line consists of several departments all with a unique surgically based focus. Each unit is staffed by nurses who are specialists in their respective fields and provide compassionate care and clinical excellence: 3 Main Thoracic Surgery, 3 West-Surgical Orthopedic, 4 Main-Surgical Oncology, 6/7 Pavilion Med/Surg Urology, and 7 West-Neuro Surgical/Oncology. What is the Graduate Nurse Rotational Program (GNRP)? UPMC Shadyside is pleased to announce we are NOW HIRING Graduate Nurses as full-time Professional Staff Nurses to support units amongst our three service lines as part of a special Rotational Program. The GNRP will begin in August 2025. You will have the opportunity to rotate through three units of your choice within our three service lines for twelve months. Upon completion of the Graduate Nurse Rotational Program, placements are determined by participant preference, Hiring Manager preference, and business need through a collaborative matching process at UPMC Shadyside. Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the My Nursing Career Ladder based on their individual experience and education. Shift/Hours: Our RNs work rotating 12-hour schedules to ensure 24/7 coverage on the floor. GNs must be eligible for State Board Licensure and successfully pass the examination before beginning this role -OR- must have a Temporary Practice Permit and commit to taking the NCLEX examination within SIX months of hire. * BSN Preferred * Completion of UPMC Student Nurse Internship Program or student clinical transitions course at UPMC preferred. * Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and interact with the ages of patients. * Understand the principles of growth and development over the lifespan. * Asses data on patients' statuses to identify each patient's and their families, executives managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, and other departments. * Work productively and effectively in an environment with changing priorities that require specialized skills. * Think critically to analyze and problem-solve to deliver the best patient care. * Use sound clinical judgment and problem-solve to deliver quality patient care when it matters most. * Understand, apply, and champion nursing best practices.
