Medical Lab Scientist I
Overview Team member is responsible for analytical evaluation of blood and body fluids, performing all laboratory procedures to include quality control, specimen collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of laboratory results. The team member must be able to make decisions and solve problems. The team member will assist in the evaluation of new/modified techniques when required. They will advise and assist in the orientation and training of other personnel on equipment and software, as necessary. Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical or biological science or equivalent. Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Technology or MT program Preferred. If graduated before 1987, two-year certification is recognized as MT. * Experience: One year experience as laboratory scientist. (Clinical internships of 12 months duration meet this requirement), preferred. * Licensure/Certification: Scientist Cert from ASCP or AMT (BB, C, H, MT/MLS, M, MB), required. * Additional Skills (required): *
