Title: Registered Nurse Schedule: Monday -Friday Location: Tukwila, WA Classification: Full-Time, Exempt Opening Date: May 28, 2024 Salary Range: $101,574.24 to $121,889.09 DOQ Closing Date: Open until filled, first review June 11, 2024. * If you are an American Indian/Alaska Native and/or a Veteran and would like this to be considered for hiring, please note this on your cover letter and/or resume* Position Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assisting in the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Manages the care of patients that are prescribed medication assisted treatment by ensuring all medical and mental health needs are met. Adheres to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements. Honors and represents the mission, vision, values of CIT and of the HHS department. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Assessing patients SUD level of care needs via ASAM criteria, suitability for medication assisted treatment for new intakes and readmissions when necessary and appropriate based on scope of practice. * Assists care team identifying changes in patient condition to mitigate crisis or decompensation; supports referrals for other services which may include higher level of care. * Performs venipuncture and injections as ordered by MAT Provider. * Ensure all prescriptions are called or e-prescribed to correct pharmacy in a timely manner with follow-up to ensure patient received. * Make appropriate request to MAT Provider when medication dosage change is indicated and carry out those orders in an accurate and timely manner. * Prepares and administers medications as ordered by the MAT provider, evaluates and documents effectiveness along with any adverse reactions. * Maintains accurate accounting of all medication received from contract pharmacy supplier and tracked per program policy. * Documents nursing care provided in the patient chart, and maintains appropriate records related to patients progress and activities accurately and in a timely manner. * Makes appointments for patients to see physician; obtains lab work-ups and checks with patients to see that appointments are kept. * Provides patient education including; orientation, induction and stabilization services, laboratory results, diagnostic results, medications, and program expectations for those interested in MAT. * Fosters coordinated team approach with program structured efficiencies to allow for client increases. * Understanding and adhering to policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and reporting requirements for all grant requirements. * Assist the Nurse Manager to ensure that the technical and clinical skills of the Registered Nurses and Medical Assistants are functioning within the scope of their practice and licensure, and nursing actions are not delegated to another staff for which that person is not prepared or qualified to perform. * Maintains current working knowledge of trends in community health and addiction. * Maintains professional and technical knowledge by conducting research, attending seminars, educational workshops, classes and conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; participating in professional societies; conferring with representatives of contracting agencies and related organizations. * Adapts to changes in safety protocols and procedures. * Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required. * Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Knowledge of traditional form of government and tribal customs and traditions. * Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in providing comprehensive health program in clinic environments. * Knowledge of commonly used drugs and pharmacology terminology. * Knowledge and skills necessary to assist in providing care appropriate to the age of the patients served. * Knowledge of drugs and biological effects, and the desired effect on treatment of disease. * Knowledge and ability to interview and provide counseling in preventive health care on nutrition, common illnesses, child growth and development patterns, mental health, etc. * Knowledge and familiarity with the mandatory reporting requirements under the Indian Child Protection Act, with regards to suspected incidence of child abuse or child neglect. * Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements. * Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheet and database software programs in a Windows environment including electronic health care systems. * Skill in treating patients with tact, courtesy, and respect. * Skill in supervising, training and evaluating assigned staff. * Skill in analyzing, tracking, and assessing program related data. * Ability to take medical histories, conduct physical examinations and communicate results of laboratory tests. * Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. * Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. * Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. * Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels. * Ability to maintain confidentiality. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. * Licensed Registered Nurse. * Five years progressive work experience in nursing * BLS/CPR and AED certifications. * Valid drivers license is required when driving vehicles for work-related purposes. * Must be able to successfully pass a background screening / investigation according to the established requirements below. Tribal preference in accordance with Cowlitz Indian Tribe Code and CIT Employee Policies and Procedures Handbook shall apply to all positions. All positions are required to adhere to CITs established safety policies regarding vaccine requirements and personal protective equipment (PPE). Background Investigation Requirements: * Pre-employment drug screen. * Reference checks, education and employment verification. * Federal, state, and/or tribal criminal history and sanction checks including fingerprint verification. * Has not been found guilty of, charged with, received a deferred sentence, received a conditional discharge of, or entered a plea of not contest to, or entered a plea of guilty to any one felony or misdemeanor crimes of violence, sexual assault, molestation, exploitation or sexual contact; prostitution; or crimes committed against person(s) or children. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 20lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and clarity of vision at long distance. Work Environment: Work is performed in an office and clinic environment. Employee may be exposed to unpleasant odors, bodily fluids, and infectious disease and frequent exposure to dust, fumes, airborne particles and/or allergens. Situations occur where PPE (personal protective equipment) is needed. Work may involve working with hostile, violent or offensive individuals. Weekend and/or evening work is occasionally required.
