Reed College is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to work in primary care at our Health & Counseling Center (HCC). The HCC is an integrated center with a strong collaborative and multi-disciplinary clinical staff that includes: Staff Counselors, Social Work/Case Manager, Nurses, Family/Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Licensed Psychologists, and Physicians. The HCC strives to evaluate, maintain, and promote the general health of Reed students so that they may pursue their academic interests with clarity, confidence, and joy. The HCC strives to work with an integrated approach; all providers, both of physical and mental health care, coordinate efforts for holistic care of the student.The center is heavily utilized and is a lively and energetic place to work. This position is an exempt, 10 month role beginning August 1, 2024 working 3 days per week (22.5 hours) and a salary range between $50,000-$57,000. This position will transition to 4 days per week (30 hours) beginning November 1, 2024 in order to meet clinic needs, and the salary range will be adjusted accordingly. Offers are based on experience and are determined through an internal pay assessment. This is an exempt position on grade 10. The FNP position provides primary care assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of physical problems for Reed College students, including health education and health counseling. The FNP facilitates care in the community with home-based PCPs and local specialists. You are open to teaching and helping your colleagues with interdisciplinary tasks. * You have prior experience educating and consulting students toward enhancing a healthy lifestyle and reducing health-compromising behaviors in a non-judgmental manner. * You are comfortable providing support in case management and case review with support staff, counseling colleagues, and other Student Services departments as needed. * You are willing to work compassionately in a progressive healthcare model that includes emergency contraception, referrals for terminations, STI evaluations, gender affirming care, and PrEP. * You are organized. You maintain accurate, timely, and thorough records. What you'll do * Provide mental and physical health assessments, diagnosis, and treatment/management of both physical, psychosocial, and mental health issues * Formulate differential diagnoses and a collaborative plan of care based on medical history, physical exams, and assessments, which includes prescribing/dispensing appropriate medication and treatments, providing follow-up care, and evaluating effectiveness of care * Order or conduct diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures which may include, but are not limited to, biopsy, minor procedures and wound care * Order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic laboratory tests; to include CLIA-waived in-house lab testing, such as COVID tests, pregnancy tests, strep throat tests, etc. * Identify and prescribe/dispense appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions and therapies while following regulatory compliance set by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy and the Oregon Board of Nursing * Consult/collaborate with colleagues, specialists, student's home medical providers, and other healthcare/mental health providers as needed. * Participate in individual and community-wide health promotion, disease prevention, and harm reduction education * Maintain accurate medical documentation and records for patients in alignment with HIPPA and FERPA regulations * Meet all on-going requirements for professional licensure and board certification * Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications * Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an American Nurses Association (ANA) accredited graduate program. * Minimum of 3 years experience as an FNP, PPCNP, or ANP with full prescriptive authority in primary or ambulatory care settings Preferred Qualifications * Two years of relevant clinical experience in a college or university setting • Two years experience in providing Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy (GAHT), including prescribing and management of clinical care and outcomes * Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from American Nurses Association (ANA) accredited graduate program or advanced degree in a medical specialization Apply for this job Reed College is committed to building a culturally inclusive community and a work environment that respects and inspires every person.
