Lead Registered Nurse
This is a REPOST. Previous applicants are still under consideration and do not need to reapply. This position is located at the CA Dillon Juvenile Detention Center, in Butner, Granville County, N.C. This position is for 2nd Shift , Monday- Friday 12:30PM - 9:00PM and will require that the nurse be on-call during non-work hours. This position provides nursing services to juvenile offenders and function as the full-time health care professional on site. This position is responsible for: * Providing health care in the treatment and/or prevention of illnesses and injuries * Performing the juveniles' admission physical assessments * Conducting sick call * Administering medications * Implementing physician treatment orders * Providing medication administration, training UAPs for medication administration and medication counseling for the juveniles * Writing medical discharge summaries * Providing emergency medical services * Health care reports to other disciplines regarding juvenile health status, maintain data reports and providing health related staff training This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. Note to Current State Employees: The salary grade for this position is MH15. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina. Necessary Special Qualifications: Selected applicant must attend and successfully complete and pass the Juvenile Justice Officer Basic Training certification program. The certification requires four weeks to complete and is comprised of classroom and physically demanding training. This training is carried out at regional training centers and requires consecutive overnight stays.
