Telemetry Technician - 2N - Med Surg/Cardiac/Tele - Part Time Day

Location Queens, New York Shift: Day (United States of America) Description: The Heartbeat of Care: You Make It Possible Telemetry Technician - 2 North - Med Surg/Cardiac/Tele - Part Time Day Shine at the patient's side as a Telemetry Technician at NewYork-Presbyterian. Monitor one of the most vital measurements of life, health and success for our patients: their heartbeat. Be the eyes and ears of your colleagues by observing electrocardiogram (EKG) patterns. Note the patient's rhythm and alert nurses and physicians of changes or arrhythmic behavior. Make it possible for patients in the most sensitive of conditions by making excellence a personal matter. Our 2N unit is a 36 bed unit primarily caring for patients recovering from cardiac cath lab procedures. Work directly with the Nursing leaders to closely monitor EKG patterns of select patients placed on telemetry monitoring. Visualize the patient's EKG rhythm relative to predetermined parameters using high-tech equipment. Document cardiac activity, observe arrhythmia and inform the appropriate nurse or physician of changes. This is a Part Time Day (18.75 hrs/weekly; 7AM - 3PM) shift position located at NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens Hospital. Required Criteria * High School diploma or GED * Completed EKG/Arrhythmia Certification Program * A working knowledge of procedures and practices of telemetry, supplies/equipment and aseptic techniques gained through the above-mentioned EKG/Arrhythmia training.
