Nurse (RN) - Immunizations
Job Description Administers immunizations to infants, children and adults at the local health department. Performs essential functions and adheres to the scope of practice/license. Networks with area school and community providers to provide mass immunizations clinics off site during requested times. Reviewing, recording and evaluating immunization records, educating the general public regarding vaccines, maintains medical supplies and electronic immunizations records given. 100% of this individual's effort and time will be dedicated to the immunization program. Performs related duties as assigned or required by the Department of State Health Services; may be activated to perform other duties as needed in a disaster or emergency situation. Candidates must possess and maintain an unencumbered Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas. Must have at least two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, including immunization experience is desired. Current CPR certification is preferred, or must obtain within 60 days of employment. Strong computer skills are required. Work requires the ability to exercise independent thinking within the limits of policies, standards, and precedents. Bilingual preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Operator's Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
