Substitute - Nurse

" Department: Health Services Reports To: Lead Nurse Pay Grade: As per substitute pay schedule ($125/day) Expect an email from IDENTOGO to schedule fingerprints unless you have completed fingerprints through a TEXAS school district already. Please include social security number or we cannot process application. Must complete background check/fingerprints before being eligible to substitute. POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE In the absence of the regular campus nurse, the substitute nurse will provide daily care, administer medications and treatments. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provide assessment and nursing care for ill and injured students Identify signs and symptoms of communicable disease and follow infectious disease control procedures. Demonstrate and utilize knowledge of drug and treatment protocols when administering medication and treatments. Inform principal, principal designee and Lead Nurse of health concerns noted on campus. Provide appropriate intervention for crisis situations. Serve as a resource person to students, families and staff as appropriate.
