The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act. * Demonstrates competency in clinical practice; self-directed in goal setting in management of complex patients and families; utilizes the nursing process and is skilled at adapting care to rapidly changing patient conditions. * Provides safe, competent patient care; is knowledgeable of current patient care guidelines; communicates with peers, colleagues, providers and others. * Independently implements the nursing process for patients and families; integrates unit- and service-wide evidence-based practice resources into clinical practice. * Self-sufficient, competent and safe in the operation of unit-based patient care technology; efficiently operates the organization's computerized information systems; continuously develops personal practice competencies, skills and knowledge. * Delegates care where appropriate. * Serves as a preceptor for new employees and students. * Creates personal goals for lifelong learning and professional growth. * Conducts self-assessment of performance and identifies own learning needs * Identifies ethical issues in practice and takes appropriate action. * Refers to, consults with, and makes provision for continuity of care with other health care providers. * Uses evidence-based guidelines and policies to guide professional practice. * Participates in established quality improvement studies and/or activities for patient safety and quality measures; assists in continual readiness activities. * Implements infection control procedures and documents according to hospital policy. * Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital/department policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical/electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions or employee/patient/visitor injury/accident to supervisor. THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE 4-6 WEEKS OF TRAINING AND 60 -DAYS OF ONSITE WORKING - THIS WOULD ALSO REQUIRE 1 DAY/WEEK ON-SITE AND 3 DAYS/WEEK REMOTE AFTER THE 60 DAYS AFTER INITIAL 4-6 WEEKS OF TRAINING REQUIRED: * Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. * Minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training. * Certified in American Heart Association's Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). * Other REQUIRED cardiopulmonary resuscitation certifications (ACLS, NRP, PALS, etc.) are unit specific. Please refer to the specific clinical unit. * Please refer to the specific clinical unit for additional education, competencies and/or certification required as a condition of employment. PREFERRED: * Procedural experience and IV insertion skills * Procedural or Operating Room experience (including pre-op, OR, PACU, Interventional Pain, Endovascular, Interventional Radiology, Endoscopy and/or Labor and Delivery) and strong IV insertion skills. * Solid experience in Med/Surg, Ortho, Neuro, Oncology are good assets as well.

Pay

Average Georgia Staff Position Pay

$35.39/hour
