Job Description ECU Health We are hiring experienced nurses for medical and surgical oncology internal travel assignments at the Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Tower at ECU Health Medical Center, our Level I Trauma Center in Greenville, NC. All opportunties have a base pay of up to $70.00/hr. About the Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Tower at ECU Health Medical Center The Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Tower at ECU Health Medical Center, serves as the hub of ECU Health Cancer Care. The facility features 96 inpatient rooms, 60 infusion areas with a view of outdoor healing gardens, 58 clinics centered on patient care, an image renewal center, and a resource center offering additional services like psychotherapy, support groups and complementary therapies. Internal Travel Program Details * 13 week assignments with option to extend at the discretion of the manager * Base pay - up to $70/hour for all internal travel nursing positions * Additional compensation: 1.5x base hourly rate for overtime (over 40 hours per week) and holiday pay, $3.00/hour for stand-by pay, and $2.00/hour for charge/preceptor pay Position Summary Responsible to provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice and other standards established by profession/professional groups, regulating bodies/agents. Nursing care will be delivered in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures and professional standards of care/practice. Responsible for the provision and coordination of nursing care to include the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members. Identifies interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluates the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and documents the process. This care includes sensitivity to age specific and unique needs of the patient/family. Promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the health care team. Collaborates with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care. Delegates tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act. Minimum Requirements * Diploma in Nursing, Associates in Nursing or higher * Bachelor Degree is preferred * Greater than 1 year of nursing experience is required * American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification is required * Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required: (i.e. supervision, computers, etc.) * Flexibility in scheduling to meet the twenty four (24) hour needs of the patients * Possess organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills * Ability to utilize effective and confidential communication in patient, interdisciplinary, and staff relationships * Maintains stable performance levels under conditions of pressure and multiple demands * Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications Other Information Travel team members are expected to: * Float to other areas as needed * Rotate shifts to meet department needs as determined by the Manager (may include 11 a.m.-11 p.m., 7 a.m.-7 p.m., 3 p.m.-3 a.m., 7 p.m.-7 a.m. and/or other shifts as determined by organizational needs) * Adhere to required attendance of unit staff meetings, completion of e-inform modules, and completion of required organizational continuing education * Use the scheduling system to manage their schedule, including non-duty/time-off requests * Have ACLS as appropriate (required for intensive or progressive care) * Not be currently employed by ECU Health or separated for 92 days, having left in good standing * Organizational policies will be applicable to internal travel team members, notwithstanding Internal Travel Staffing Program specifications included within each assignment acknowledgement * Travel Staffing positions are not eligible for health benefits, shifts or weekend differentials, incentive pay, PTO or float pool differentials.
