GENERAL SUMMARY The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall supervision, provision, and quality of nursing care in the Health Center and residential apartments. He/she is responsible for the selection, training, discipline and supervision for all nursing related Health Center personnel. He/she is responsible for the procurement of appropriate supplies and equipment and operating within the departmental budget. Here are a few of the daily responsibilities: * Supervise all healthcare personnel to include hiring, training, evaluating and counseling within established policies and procedures. * Supervise the Nurse Manager, LPN-LVN-Care Partner, Quality of Life Specialist, Medication Assistant/CMA, and Health Services Associate. * Supervise, as needed, the schedule of nursing services/personnel. * Nurse Educator - coordinate training, implementation and maintenance of Heartfelt Connections Memory Care program as well as overseeing the ongoing education of nursing staff. Must maintain a strong foundation of this program. * Maintain medical charting and required documentation under scope state regulatory guidelines for appropriate licensing and corporate policies. * Serve as the department representative and coordinator of the Quality Assurance program for nursing services. * Assess residents for change in level of care and coordinate billing for that level of care. * Work closely with residents and families to develop & implement appropriate Plan of Care. Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have: * Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Registered nurse with a current license in community's state. * Two years' experience in geriatric nursing and/or B.S. Degree in nursing. Participation in professional organizations, dealing primarily in geriatrics preferred. Minimum of two years nursing administration experience, preferably in a long-term care setting. NADONA certification a plus. * Basic computer proficiency. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Many roles in the community may require that we ask about your vaccination status.
