Title: NSUFA196 - Registered Nurse State Role Title: Admin - Assistant Professor Hiring Range: Commensurate with Credentials and Experience Pay Band: UG Agency: Norfolk State University Location: Norfolk State University Agency Website: www.nsu.edu Recruitment Type: General Public - G Job Duties Patient Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on individualized patient needs and medical conditions. Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient status, including vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment, and report any significant changes to the healthcare team. * Documentation: Accurately document patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes, in electronic health records (EHR). Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians/nurse practitioners and monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects. Patient Education: Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care practices. Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care plans and coordinate patient care. Compliance: Adhere to all practice policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to ensure safe and effective care delivery. Emergency Response* Respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies, providing critical care and support as needed. Minimum Qualifications Education: Associate's degree in nursing (ADN) or bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution. Licensure: *Current, unrestricted RN license in Commonwealth of Virginia. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)certification preferred.
