Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Family Medicine)
Department Overview The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) position is a psychiatric clinician who operates as a core member of the integrated care team within the Family Medicine at Richmond clinic. This position involves a high degree of clinical complexity and requires advanced-level psychiatric skill in delivering evidence-based care across the lifespan. The PMHNP position serves as an advocate for integrated behavioral health within the primary care setting. OHSU Family Medicine at Richmond is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in SE Portland where 16,000 community members receive integrated, holistic healthcare. As a safety net clinic, some applicants may qualify for student loan repayment through the National Health Services Corp. As the state's only health and research university, OHSU brings together education, research, patient care and community service. Salary Range: $116,688 - $174,063 Offer Amount Based on Relevant Years of Experience Function/Duties of Position * Provide integrated psychiatric care as part of a patient centered medical home team. This includes care team consultation, collaborative care planning, and psychiatric medication management. * Provide lifespan psychiatric assessment and management to a population experiencing a wide variety of acuity, including SPMI, and complex social needs. * Consistent use of evidence-based practice including screening and diagnostic tools, clinical interventions, laboratory tests, and monitoring for adverse effects of medications and interactions. * Provide crisis assessment and intervention in collaboration with integrated care team. * As an academic position, this person will be expected to teach within the scope of their discipline and to provide educational experiences to OHSU learners, including Family Medicine residents. * Engage in program and professional development to address emerging clinical needs among patient population. * Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, care team members, and both internal and community partners. * The appointee will be expected to document using the electronic health record and maintain complete and timely patient care documentation consistent with OHSU and Family Medicine policies and procedures. * The faculty member will be expected to participate in continuing education, professional and faculty development and scholarship as directed by their department. * All faculty members take an active role in the committee structure of the School of Medicine, attend faculty meetings, and participate in faculty and professional development programs. * Academic and administrative time provided in accordance with department policy. Required Qualifications Required: * Active PMHNP licensure in the state of Oregon. * Advanced degree in Nursing and completion of specialty of PMHNP. * Active DEA certification Preferred Qualifications * A demonstrated commitment to patient centered, team-based health care. * A demonstrated commitment to trauma-informed practice. * 2+ years of PMHNP experience in a safety net setting such as FQHC, Rural Health Center, or Community Mental Health. * Experience in educational setting with supervision Additional Details This position also comes with great benefits!
