Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of School Nurse. The appointee will report to the Principal and Director of Health Services and will be responsible for the health care needs of students. The person will work closely with students, parents, and campus staff. Qualifications: The Nurse must be a graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program and hold a valid license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas. One Year of experience post-licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) is preferred. Preference will be given to applicants who: __have successful experience in the nursing field __hold a bachelor's degree in Nursing __possess a broad base of knowledge regarding the treatment of illnesses and injuries __have a general understanding of medications and related effects __possess strong assessment skills __exhibit the ability to work well with students __demonstrate effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills __have a service-oriented personality Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
