Pharmacist Clinical


Clinical Staff pharmacists fill orders for drugs, interpret medication orders, monitor patient drug therapies and provide drug information. Clinical staff pharmacists supervise and direct supportive personnel. In the absence of the pharmacy manager, a staff pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the pharmacy manager. Clinical staff pharmacist is responsible for the final check of all ordered medications including patient specific medications, Accu Dose cabinet stock/restock, and nonsterile and sterile compounded medications. Staff pharmacists are responsible for completing daily compounding and unit doe logs, as well as the correct execution of DEA 222 forms when ordering controlled substances. Clinical staff pharmacists are expected to complete daily patient rounding when three or more pharmacists are on duty. Clinical staff pharmacists are responsible for entering pharmacy interventions into the Sentri7 software application in order to achieve monthly intervention goals. All pharmacists are expected to follow the policies and procedures adopted by (CHS) Community Health Systems. Pharmacists shall not delegate duties to supportive personnel that only a licensed pharmacist may perform in the State of Florida. This position statement is not infinite as other duties within the scope of pharmacy practice may be assigned as needed. Education: BS Pharmacy degree required. Experience: One year hospital pharmacy experience required. Licenses/Certifications: FL Pharmacy license required.
