Position Overview
 As a Hospice Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will play an essential role in providing direct, hands-on care to patients in the comfort of their homes. You will work closely with patients, families, and the hospice care team to provide quality and personalized care that addresses both physical and emotional needs.
 
This role requires a compassionate professional who can work both independently and as part of a team, with strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a deep passion for caring for end-of-life patients. 
 
What You Can Expect:
<ul>
 <li>Traveling and providing in home care to patients within the Treasure Valley</li>
 <li>The schedule is Monday - Friday generally from 8:30am - 5:00pm with rotating weekends.</li>
 <li>Document information in patient's record</li>
 <li>Perform various patient care activities and related nonprofessional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients</li>
 <li>Eligible to apply for scholarships to pursue nursing education</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
 <li>Education: No Education Required</li>
 <li>Experience: 6 months of experience</li>
 <li>Licenses/Certifications: 
 <ul>
 <li>Current CNA Certification in the State of Practice </li>
 <li>Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross</li>
 </ul></li>

Job Description:


The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will provide personal care and support services for patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role is essential in meeting the personal needs of patients, promoting comfort, and ensuring safety. The CNA is responsible for observing and reporting patient conditions and documenting care provided.


Key Responsibilities:

Perform personal care tasks, including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos, and changing bed linen.
Assist patients with dressing, undressing, and feeding as assigned.
Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) as ordered.
Provide skin care to prevent breakdown over bony prominence.
Report significant changes in patient conditions to the Registered Nurse Case Manager.
Assist in patient ambulation and exercise as instructed.
Offer and assist with bedpans and urinals.
Perform light laundry tasks and maintain tidy patient living spaces.
Conduct range of motion exercises and other simple procedures as instructed.
Provide respite care for families and caregivers when appropriate.
Adhere to documentation and care procedures, maintaining professional conduct.
Participate in quality assessment performance improvement activities.
Respect patient and family environments and needs.
Participate in on-call duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:

Bona Fide Occupational Qualification: Female applicants only
Successful completion of state-established training and competency evaluation programs.
At least one year of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
One year of home health or hospice experience preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care.
Self-directed with the ability to work independently.
Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail, and impaired.
Current CPR certification.
Licensed driver with insured and reliable automobile.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.
Working Conditions:

Community home environment.
Frequent travel in and out of an automobile.
Job Limitations:

The CNA will not perform tasks that are considered the practice of nursing as per the Nurse Practice Act.
