The Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator-Advanced (CHSE-A) is a professional credential for experienced healthcare simulation educators. Administered by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), this advanced-level certification recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a high level of expertise, leadership, and achievement in healthcare simulation education. The CHSE-A is a portfolio-based certification.
Eligibility
Minimum eligibility criteria include:
Current CHSE certification
Participation in healthcare simulation in an educational role
Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
5 years of documented simulation use in healthcare education, research or administration
Expertise as a simulation educator in healthcare simulation activities and settings
In addition, CHSE-A portfolio reviewers assess the candidate’s portfolio for evidence of leadership and influence in the healthcare simulation field over the last 3 to 5 years, demonstrating consistency.
Completion Time: 20 to 40 hours to create a portfolio
