The CCM exam is a timed (3 hours), computer-based exam with 180 multiple-choice questions. Only 150 items are scored. The other 30 are pre-test questions used to gather statistical data for future exams. The test content covers five major areas.
Testing is offered through Prometric. Candidates can test in person at a testing center or remotely through ProProctor.
Results
Pass/Fail results are provided on-screen immediately, with 99% accuracy. CCMC posts will post a final Pass/Not Pass notification on the CCMC Portal.
A certificate and lapel pin are mailed to those who passed the examination. A certificate is official proof of certification and allows examinees to use the "CCM" credential.
Candidates may retake the exam if they do not pass the initial examination. If they do not pass the "re-take," they must reapply and pay test fees again.
