The ATP certification is a credential for professionals in the assistive technology field, recognizing expertise in analyzing the needs of individuals with disabilities, assisting in the selection of appropriate assistive technology, and providing training in its use.

Eligibility and Certification Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a field related to assistive technology.

  • A minimum number of hours of direct experience providing assistive technology services, which typically includes assessment, recommendation, fitting, training, or support of assistive technology.

  • Adherence to RESNA’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.

  • Passing the ATP examination.

Cost: $500 exam fee plus $100 application fee (application fee is free for RESNA members).

The ATP exam is administered nationwide at your choice of Prometric test centers.
