Inova Lorton Healthplex ED is looking for an RN Unit Supervisor to join our team
Schedule: Fulltime, Night shift
Inova HealthPlex – Lorton is a full-service healthcare facility that combines the latest technology with a comprehensive array of services, including 24-hour emergency department, radiology and laboratory services.
Strongly prefer 2 years minimum ED experience

Job Summary:
- Front line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to Quality and Best Practices to improve clinical operation of the unit
- Embraces; uses and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools.
- Supports unit-based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes
- Role model who leads by example in delivering Service Always and in making Patient Experience a priority on unit(s) of responsibility
- Seeks every opportunity to meet the unique needs of each person we are privileged to serve-every time, every touch
- Values and promotes collegial working relationships within and among disciplines
- Communicates effectively and supports production of an environment of mutual trust

Requirements:
- Strongly prefer 2 years plus of ED RN experience
- Associate Degree RNs within one year of completing their BSN BSN or MSN preferred Completion of revised Charge Nurse Workshop within the first 90 days
- Previous leadership courses preferred
- BLS required. Specialty certification (as required by unit) within 1 year of hire Strongly prefer current ACLS and PALS
- Licensed to practice as an RN in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exhibits leadership ability that fosters teamwork and retention.
- Demonstrates professionalism and ability to remain calm and lead in dynamic and busy situations.
- Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office and healthcare software required.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and prioritization; can serve as a resource and mentor to other clinical staff on the unit.
