ABSMC-Summit CampusPosition Overview:
Provides assessment, treatment, care and evaluation for patients with cognitive, speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. Leads inpatient program team to meet hospital California Department of Public Health (CDPH) requirement (section 70643). In addition, provides lead role functions collecting and analyzing workflow/process performance data, recommending solutions that improve performance, coordinating continuing education and student programs, providing staff performance appraisal input, providing management coverage as requested and addresses other assigned organizational priorities. Leads scheduling and staffing efforts for the SLP service line at Summit. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.Job Description:
- Develops or implements treatment plans for problems such as stuttering, delayed language, and swallowing disorders.
Completes patient evaluations and tests per Speech Pathology Standards of Practice, and other standards as required.
Based on the data, identified problems, and diagnosis from the exam, develops and updates the patient’s Plan of Care (POC).
Assesses and provides and/or progresses treatment for patients per plan of care per established standards.
Completes all documentation related to charge capture per established standards.
Coordinates patient care effectively and efficiently with other care provider and support team members.
Ensures compliance with other department & organization requirements and responsibilities.
Provides clinical supervision to assistants and/or aides.
EDUCATION:
- Master's: Graduate of an accredited speech pathology program
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
- SP-Licensed Speech Pathologist
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years of recent relevant experience.

- Knowledge and application of professional practice and regulatory requirements.
- Must be able to work in demanding work environment, organize multiple priorities completing work duties within expected timelines and requirements.

Pay Range is $64.32 to $80.41 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
