Surgical Intensive Care Unit
Ratios: 1:2-3 for Unit patients, 1:4-5 for step-down acuity
Years of Experience REQ: 2 as RN, 1 travel
First-timers Accepted: Y/N: N
Weekend REQ: Every other
Certs REQ: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Is on-call REQ? N
Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Y
Open to accommodating block schedule? Open to discussion, cannot promise
Locals accepted: 65 mile rad. restriction
Pending License accepted? no
RTO Restrictions: will review case by case
Guaranteed Hours: per facility standard
Special Requirements: need surgical and cardiac experience
Assessment tools: Stroke signs/symptoms competency (ex. BE-FAST)
Bedside Dysphagia screening competency (on file)
Preferred: Minimum 1-year experience working in a certified stroke center critical care unit
Familiar with current Stroke guidelines and performance measures for Acute Ischemic and Hemorrhagic strokes
Looking for experience with:
Interpretation of dysrhythmias
Management of dysrhythmias
Obtain 12 lead EKG
Thermoregulation: hypothermia/hyperthermia
Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump
Transcatheter Aortic Valve implantation/Replacement (TAVI/TAVR)
Sheath Removal
IV insulin protocols
CVVHD/CRRT
Accessing Ports
Arterial line management
Blood Product Administration
Central line care/management
PICC line management
Starting IVs
Continuous IV sedation
Emergency Medications
Procedural Sedation Administration
Titrate Cardiac drips
Titrate Vasoactive drips
CVA/Acute Stroke management
Assist with management of BiPAP
Assist with management of CPAP
Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal
Care of Ventilated Patient
High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
Interpretation of ABGs
Suctioning (ETT, NT)

Nicole was very helping and always proficient with reaching out and even going above and beyond when the facility itself was slacking. When the facility canceled all contracts the day before start date she found me another position within the same week. I would recommend her 10x over.
